Horse racing predictions

Horse racing predictions are not just about picking the horse with the best recent result. A second-place finish can mean something very different depending on the race, the opposition and the conditions.

We look at the races coming up and the information available before they start. Recent form is one of the things we check, but it is not the only one.

Horse racing predictions for major races and events

Our horse racing predictions cover major races and events. We look at the horses in the field, their recent races and the conditions they are likely to face. A horse that finished poorly last time may still be worth watching. Maybe it was running over a distance it does not handle particularly well. Maybe the track was heavy, or the field was stronger than expected. A recent winner can also be worth looking at more closely. Who did it beat? What was the pace of the race? Were the conditions similar to those in the next event? These things can change how a result looks on paper.

How are our horse racing predictions prepared?

We start with the horse's recent races. We also check the jockey and trainer and how they have been doing lately. The distance matters. So does the track. Some horses handle wet conditions well, while others are much more comfortable on a dry surface. The same goes for different distances. We also look at the field itself. A horse facing a group of strong runners has a different task from one competing against less experienced opposition. There is no fixed formula that works for every race. We use the information available at the time and make our prediction from there.

When are horse racing predictions updated?

We update our horse racing predictions when something relevant changes. A new race result can change our view of a horse. So can a jockey change, new information about the trainer or a change in track conditions.

It is therefore worth checking the predictions close to the start of the race. The situation can look different on race day than it did several days earlier.
